Dr. Anish Andheria

President & CEO, Wildlife Conservation Trust

A Carl Zeiss Conservation Awardee, Dr. Anish Andheria is a fellow of LEAD and the President of the Wildlife Conservation Trust. Upon completing his Doctorate from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Anish went on to pursue his passion with a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. He is a large carnivore biologist with field expertise in predator-prey relationships. A wildlife photographer of repute, Anish has photographed some of the remotest wildlife reserves in India. He has co-authored two books on Indian wildlife and contributed to several other national and international publications.

He is a member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and both Maharashtra and Jammu & Kashmir State Boards of Wildlife. Anish is a member of the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority and the Gujarat State Lion Conservation Society. Read more

He is also part of the Organising Committee of the ‘India Climate Collaborative’ (ICC) and the Governing Council of the ‘Bombay Natural History Society’ (BNHS). He has played a pivotal role in setting up the renowned Kids for Tigers initiative, a nationwide conservation education programme that has reached out to millions of school children over 17 years.

A distinguished Alumni Awardee from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Anish is a natural communicator and is one of India’s leading motivational speakers. He has introduced thousands of people to the joys of nature and the rationale for nature conservation.

Dr. Mira K Desai

Professor and Head University Department of Extension & Communication (UDEC)

Mira is a Professor in Communication Technology and Head at the University Department of Extension & Communication, S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai which she had joined in July 1998 as a full-timer. She has prior experience of working for print media (Advertorials for TOI Ahmedabad), television production (researcher, scriptwriter and anchor), Internet (blogger as well as content provider), and alternate media (newsletter editor and documentary filmmaker) environments before joining academic. She has field experience in rural women’s empowerment programme as a communication/documentation person. Social researcher with more than three decades of experience, she has interest in research and practices related to gender, development, technology and culture. 

Gaurav Laghate

Gaurav Laghate is the chief of Mint's Consumer Bureau that covers FMCG, consumer durables, retail, media, advertising, hospitality, luxury and the business of sports. An accomplished business journalist with a career spanning over 16 years, he has reported on the significant advancements in the media and entertainment industry, as well as the business of sports. Beyond his role as a journalist, Gaurav is recognised as a steadfast observer of the media landscape, having spoken at several industry events and panels.

Ms. Deepti DCunha

Artistic Director, Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival

Deepti DCunha is a Mumbai-based Film Programmer specialising in Contemporary Indian & South Asian Cinema. She is the Artistic Director of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. She has been the sole features curator and programmer for ‘Viewing Room’ section and the ‘Work-in-Progress Lab’ for NFDC Film Bazaar from 2011-2022. She has worked as an India and South Asia Consultant across prestigious Indian and International Film Festivals for the past fifteen years. These include Venice, Rome, Locarno, Directors' Fortnight at Cannes, Pingyao and other Chinese festivals. She is passionate about sourcing cinematic talent providing a platform to independent filmmakers.

Ms.Elizabeth Orlando

Economic and Commercial Affairs Officer at U.S. Consulate General Mumbai

Elizabeth (Betsy) Orlando is from Long Island, NY. She has a BA in Policy and Politics and has a Juris Doctorate - licensed attorney in the State of Ohio. Additionally, she earned a Certificate in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) from Duke University and is a published writer. She is an Econ Coned Officer who has travelled to over 170 countries/six overseas assignments. Betsy’s last position was as the Pol/Econ Chief in Durban. Prior to that assignment she was the EB in the Office of Threat Finance and Countermeasures where she served as the Alternative Focal Point for the Kimberley Process and the lead for conflict minerals, responsible sourcing, and artisanal mining. She served as a Watch Officer in the National Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, in the office of OES/International Health and Biodefense; was the Deputy Economic Chief in Abuja and PEPFAR Coordinator, served in OES/Environmental Affairs as the NEPA Coordinator, and oversaw environmental impact statements and assessments of major infrastructure projects on or at the border to include the Keystone and Keystone XL pipelines. She originally joined State as a Diplomatic Courier. In 2004, Betsy was awarded the Tex Harris Constructive Dissent Award and in 2013 the Secretary of State’s Outstanding Volunteer Award. She lives with her partner and three sons in Mumbai.
