On September 5th and 6th, 2023, the "Goa Social Impact Filmmaking Workshop" was conducted, serving as a segment of the 'Green Frames: VATAVARAN Short Film Workshops, Competition, and Festival 2023'. This initiative was brought to life with the backing of the U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai.

Institute Menezes Braganza Conference Hall, Panaji, Goa hosted more than 50 enthusiastic participants, a significant number of whom were female. This enthusiastic turnout was a testament to the growing interest in films that can make a societal impact, particularly around environmental conservation and climate change advocacy.

The inaugural session was adorned by distinguished guests: Dr Pradip Sarmokadam, Member Secretary of the Goa State Biodiversity Board and Ms Jessica Mayberry, Founder Director, Video Volunteers. Their insights and presence added gravitas to the event, emphasizing the workshop's importance.
